EGU 2016

EGU 2016 was the fourth EGU conference I had been part of in 4 years, and the third time I had attended. Held during the week of the 17th April 2014, and attended by 13,650 delegates from 109 countries, this conference was an opportunity for me to present some cross-over work between my PhD and Postdoc. I returned to Vienna and was invited help convene session SSS 5.6 entitled "Mechanisms and models of soil organic matter stabilization, C and N sequestration and losses, including greenhouse gas emissions". The session was well-attended and I was invited to talk about some of my preliminary findings after comparing measured soil fractionation data from sites in the UK and USA with simulated (modelled) values. The abstract for this talk can be found here.

I was also lucky enough to secure another talk, presenting the inital findings from a 'meta-analysis' I was pulling together. This mined all available fractionation data using one particular method and aligned the relative proportions of each fraction to available site characteristics. If you wish to find out more about this research please free to contact me and to cite the presentation below please refer this abstract.
